St. Louis (August 25, 2003) - Watlow representatives at this year's 2003 NAFEM show will be encouraging attendees to "Think Outside the Box." Watlow will be featuring recent innovations such as the ON-LINE KITCHEN capabilities, controller solutions and thick film and polymer heaters to illustrate the broad range of product solutions the company offers. Watlow will focus on the innovative products and services that bring a sustainable difference to customers.

"Our ON-LINE KITCHEN offers customized interactive solutions for restaurant chains," said Leon McNutt, Foodservice Marketing Leader and steering committee member for the NAFEM Data Protocol development. "Specifically, the ON-LINE KITCHEN offers advantages including NAFEM Data Protocol compliance, lower operational costs, increased efficiency, improved food safety and quality and equipment maintenance and diagnostics."

Also featured at the show will be a presentation by McNutt for the NAFEM Education Series workshop. McNutt will be a featured panelist for the session NAFEM Data Protocol: Managing Smarter Decisions. This informational seminar will address topics such as discovering hidden savings in everyday operations, implementing productivity improvements and monitoring cost reduction compliance in multi-unit facilities.

Watlow will feature conventional product solutions, as well as connectivity and product innovations.

ON-LINE KITCHEN
Watlow's ON-LINE KITCHEN combines software and hardware to integrate and automate restaurant functions, HAACP food safety preparation compliance and equipment diagnostics. The ON-LINE KITCHEN, using NAFEM Data Protocol, can monitor equipment operations and performance, alert users of maintenance needs and reduce energy usage.

SERIES N7
This new temperature controller by Watlow features expanded communication options and a modular architecture, designed to meet requirements for use in a broad range of applications. The heart of the SERIES N7 is a powerful processor, featuring additional memory. The SERIES N7's Ethernet communications module enables NAFEM protocol options.

SERIES SD Controllers
Watlow's SERIES SD single-channel temperature controllers feature EIA 485 ModbusTM serial communications and INFOSENSE sensor technology that improves sensor accuracy by a minimum of 50 percent. The controllers also offer infrared remote communications operation to simplify controller setup, operation and monitoring.

SERIES PD Controllers
Watlow's SERIES PD controllers use embedded Ethernet technology to provide a convenient, economical means for setting up and viewing key process variables. The new controllers provide high performance temperature and process control and are ideally suited for a broad range of applications where the I/O is supported from a remote location.
