Opportunity:

Product Features Make RAPID RESPONSE^TM HEAT EXCHANGER a Perfect Match for a New Industrial Printing Application

Problem:

A Watlow industrial printing customer required an electric circulation heater offering a compact size, effective heater life and fast thermal response. The heater needed to be located close to a process fluid storage tank but not be directly integrated into the tank design. Previously, the customer utilized a heating solution that heated through the wall of the tank. This approach took too much time to heat and stabilize the fluid. The previous heater was integrated directly into the tank design. As a result of this approach, too often the heater failed and the entire tank had to be replaced at high costs with significant down time.

Solution:

Watlow proposed a RAPID RESPONSE ELECTRIC HEAT EXCHANGER. This innovative new electric circulation heater can be formed into a small package, incorporates Watlow?s reliable and high quality WATROD heating element and has a very low overall thermal mass which provides fast thermal response. Watlow?s new product could easily be integrated inline with the existing indirect cooling loop already being used through coils immersed in the fluid inside the tank.
